Bride dies less than a day
after marriage
PETALING JAYA: Fatin
Nursyahirah Yusuf, 24, died less than 24 hours after her marriage. The
Universiti Malaya student was suffering from stage four sarcoma cancer.

Yusuf, 30, documented his sister's battle with the disease and her recent
marriage on Facebook.
"My
younger sister, who my family affectionately refers to as kakak (big sister),
was diagnosed with stage 3 Sarcoma cancer in 2017 and had undergone various
radiotherapy sessions and two surgeries since last year," said Shukur.
She was
told that that the cancer reached stage four sarcoma last Ramadan.
Fatin
was engaged to Azzam in June last year. They married last Friday after agreeing
to expedite their marriage which was set on Aug 18.
Shukur
said his family was deeply moved by Azzam and his family for accepting Fatin as
their own despite her condition.
"The
wedding was extremely simple with no colours or excessive festivity as it was
only attended by family members, witnesses, and the kadi," added Shukur.
The
marriage was solemnized while Fatin was lying in bed.
Fatin
was rushed to the Jitra Hospital later that evening after complaints of
shortness of breath. She took her last breath at 5.20am last Saturday.
