Doc fined $100,000 for
not telling patient of side effects, although treatment was appropriate
SINGAPORE
- An orthopaedic doctor in private practice has been fined the maximum $100,000
for not telling his patient of the possible side effects of an injection he
gave her.
The
H&L (steroid) injection can cause a patient to experience "increased
pain and inflammation in the area injected that can be worse than the pain and
inflammation caused by the condition being treated".
