Majikan Adelina Lisao
A senior
citizen was today charged at the Penang Magistrates Court with the murder of
Indonesian maid Adelina Lisao. Her 32-year-old daughter was also in the docks
for hiring Adelina without documentation.
60-year-old
M.A. Ambika is alleged to have committed the murder at a house in Taman Kota
Permai 2, Bukit Mertajam on February 10th.
No plea was
recorded from her for the charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which
carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
Magistrate
Muhamad Anas Mahadzir set April 19th for mention. Meanwhile, Ambika's daughter,
R. Jayavartiny pleaded not guilty to a charge of employing Adelina without
documentation.
She faces a
maximum fine of RM 50,000 or a jail term of up to a year, or both, upon
conviction. The court set bail at RM 15,000 and April 19th for mention.
